Jessica Renee started bringing her local health and beauty boutique, Herbally Anointed, to NewBo City Market in November of 2020. Now, she's taken her business status from guest vendor to full-time Shopkeeper.
Jessica was introduced to guest vending at the Market through learning about the Black-Owned Business Guest Vendor Markets, which began in October of 2020.
“I wanted to have a personal connection with my customers,” said owner Jessica Renee, whose business mainly operated online prior to her experience at the Market. “Being here at the Market has allowed me to meet so many new people and help them find what they like in my products.”
The Boutique, which is now open at NewBo City Market, focusses on natural health and beauty products such as candles, teas, body scrubs and more. They also offer some unique clothing and accessories.
Herbally Anointed is also the first Shopkeeper to take part in The Hatchery at NewBo City Market, a new Entrepreneurial Development program and expansion of the nonprofit Business Incubator.
This program helps underserved residents of our local community who want to start a food or retail business by reducing barriers to entry and giving them the tools with which to thrive within an entrepreneurial setting.
Herbally Anointed is now open at NewBo City Market during regular business hours: Thursday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
