Culinary Camps at NewBo City Market
Join us for a summer jam-packed with fun! Camps will include indoor & outdoor activities and each week focuses on a new CULINARY experience! We've got three fantastic camps available this year for kids ages 7 to 12 years old.
June 17-20: Cuisine Around the World!
Each day, campers will focus on a different country or region's cuisine. Kids will learn about various cultures through their food while exploring dishes from Italy, Japan, Mexico, and more. They will learn to cook popular dishes, learn basic phrases in the country's language, and even explore cultural attire!
June 24-27: Farm to Table Adventures
Campers will learn about where food comes from by researching and visiting local farms, understanding how to harvest their own ingredients, cooking meals using fresh produce straight from the farm, and learning how to grow herbs and vegetables. This theme celebrates all things garden-inspired! Join us for a hands-on way to learn about sustainability and appreciation for nature's bounty!

July 8-11: Food Truck Frenzy!
Campers will create a mini food truck festival where they will design their own food truck concept and cook dishes to serve to their peers. Throughout the week, campers will immerse themselves in the art of food truck cuisine, entrepreneurship, learning essential cooking skills, exploring diverse flavors, and unleashing their creativity as they design and operate their very own "food trucks"!
Meet Our Camp Instructor:
Ms. Carly Hachey
Our 2024 instructor is Ms. Carly Hachey, a teacher in the Linn-Mar district with over 17 years of experience in the classroom and TWO masters degrees in education. She will guide our campers through a week full of food-based learning!
