After years of serving up delicious wood-fired pizzas at NewBo City Market, Carol Elliott, owner of Aroma Artisan Pizza, was ready to expand her entrepreneurial efforts and decided to open Luna Gelato and Ice Cream in June, 2021.
This new business features locally-made ice cream and midwest-sourced gelato. It is located right next door to Aroma Artisan Pizza, inside the Market.
"I've always loved pizza and ice cream, even as a child," Carol said. "Beyond that, I just thought pizza and gelato would be the perfect pairing... When the previous ice cream vendor here at the Market chose not to continue, I saw an opportunity to start something new."
Luna partners with Dan & Debbies Creamery locally for their ice cream and Lezza Spumoni & Desserts Inc. out of Illinois for their gelato. Carol said choosing her flavors has been a "fascinating" experience.
As a NewBo City Market Shopkeeper, Carol and her business will connect with thousands of customers each and every week.
